We are a small charity with a big job to do. We want to help and support as many people as possible who are going through possibly the worst moments of their lives
Here at Yorkshire Cancer Community, we are dedicated to helping people affected by cancer in as many ways as possible, so that everyone who is affected knows where to go for help and support, and can live well with and beyond cancer

How your funds can help us
£250 will pay for one edition of our newsletter. Our readers tell us that our monthly newsletter is a really interesting and informative resource
A huge thank you to those who have already donated to support us
Although we receive funding for our Cancer SMART and Patient VIEW projects, there’s a lot of work that we do that isn’t funded. For this, we are totally reliant on the generosity of our supporters. So we’d like to say a big thank you to those who have made donations or raised funds to support our work. Thank you so much xx

Could you fundraise in aid of Yorkshire Cancer Community?
Here’s some ideas to help inspire you

Host a coffee morning
What better excuse for catching up with friends than to host a coffee morning? Why not organise a get together, and use us as an excuse to catch up over coffee and eat yummy cake, and raise funds for us at the same time? It’s a win win situation
Hold a movie night
Why not settle down to a cosy night in with friends and watch your favourite film? You could pretend you’re at the cinema and charge a small admission fee, and charge for concessions. It will help raise funds whilst having a fun night in with your besties.
Hold a sponsored event
If you love to be active, or want to do better, why not create a sponsored event and ask your friends & family to sponsor you to raise funds? Whether it’s laps of your local swimming pool, or climbing the three peaks, being sponsored is a great incentive to reach your fitness goals.

Have a bake sale
What better reasons to eat cake than at a bake sale? After all, it’s for a good cause right?
Get your bake on and share the love with some delicious cake. You could even make it a competition with a prize for the best cake. Just remember to list allergens to keep everyone safe.
Host a bingo night
Get your dabbers at the ready for a bingo night! All you need to do is download our printable bingo tickets here and invite some friends. Each friend pays a small donation to play, and you provide a small prize (it could be half of the playing fee). It’s great fun, and you’lll be raising funds for us at the same time.
Hold a raffle or tombola
Everyone loves the thrill of a raffle or tombola. You could ask people to donate unwanted gifts and prizes, and then hold a raffle or tombola at your school, workplace, or event where there will be a lot of people. Or why not run it alongside another fundraising event and raise even more?

Climbing mountains to support Yorkshire Cancer Community
Having received a breast cancer diagnosis in December 2018, Karen Kilcommons is keen to give something back. So, as well as helping us as a Cancer Champion, she was also keen to raise funds for us by climbing Mount Snowdon. Karen completed the climb in October 2023, and raised some vital funds for us. We would like to thank Karen for all of her hard work, and raising funds on our behalf.
If you’ve been inspired by Karen’s achievement, and would like to raise funds for us, get in touch.
Raise funds without doing anything at all

What if you could raise funds without actually doing anything? Well, believe it or not, if you do any online shopping you could be raising funds for us without any extra cost to you, with easyfundraising.
Over 8000 retailers have joined easyfundraising. So, whether it’s shopping for your weekly groceries, booking a holiday, renewing your insurance policy, or decorating your home, whatever you spend online could be raising funds for us at no cost to you.
Here’s how it works
1. Create an account
You create an easyfundraising account and choose us as the charity you wish to support. It doesn’t cost anything to create an account
2. Shop online as normal
When you wish to buy something online, open your easyfundraising account first and search for your retailer. Then, click the button to go to the retailers site and shop as normal
3. Your retailer makes a donation
When you make a purchase, the retailer will pay us a donation. This might be a lump sum or a percentage of what you have spent. It doesn’t cost you anything. You will have paid the normal price for your goods
What if I forget?
Easyfundraising has a donation reminder function, so if you go to a site without going through easyfundraising first, it will remind you so that you don’t miss out on any fundraising opportunities
Just a few of the 8000 + retailers involved

Our Cancer Champion Michael signed up to easy fundraising to raise funds for us. He made his first purchase soon after. Here’s what he said:
It was so easy to do. I just shopped as normal, but went through easyfundraising first and raised £1.11 just like that! Easyfundraising sent me an email so I knew my donation had tracked through.
