SUPPORT GROUPS

It can be really useful to speak to other people who know how you are feeling because they have been there too.  Speaking to those who have a lived experience of cancer can be a great source of comfort.  Many support groups also invite speakers or have medical staff in attendance, so can be a great resource to help you on your cancer journey.
Coming soon ……..

United by Ribbons

This group is open to anyone affected by cancer, so whether you’re a patient, carer, or living with a cancer diagnosis, this group is for you.

Located in Nyla’s bar in the centre of Leeds, this informal group is a chance to meet and connect with people who understand how you feel and know what you’re going through.  It’s run by Linda Walker, who has a cancer diagnosis, and recognised the need for support groups open to all, held on an evening.

Held on the first Tuesday of every month, from 6pm – 8pm upstairs in The Loft at Nyla’s.

For more information, contact Linda on lindaswellness101@gmail.com

Welcome to Chat & Chai

These relaxing and informal groups meet on Mondays 1-3pm at The Outback HX1 5NB.  Here’s what’s coming up in June.

Gentle bereavement walks available to women across Barnsley

The walks have been introduced as part of the wider Barnsley Ladies Outdoor Group & Socials (BLOGS) community (Private Facebook Group), a women’s private social walking group aimed at encouraging connection, wellbeing, confidence and access to the outdoors through a variety of walks, activities and events.

“Walking Through Grief” is a themed walk initiative intended to provide a softer and more understanding environment for women navigating bereavement, grief or loss. The walks are not counselling or formal support sessions, and attendees are never expected to openly discuss their grief. Instead, the focus is on gentle movement, fresh air, connection and reducing isolation in a calm and welcoming setting.

The walks may particularly benefit women who are struggling with loneliness, anxiety around returning to social settings, or who may find comfort in being around others with shared experiences of loss.

To access the walks, individuals are asked to join the private Facebook group:
