Huddersfield Breast Cancer Support Group met for their final time in December.
Chris Lockwood who has run the group for 16 years said they had decided to disband and will just meet as friends for a coffee.
In the early days she felt the support offered by the group was very helpful but now with the advent of on-line help and focused support from Breast Cancer Care with their Moving Forward courses, group attendance has reduced.
The group used to meet at the Keys Restaurant at St Peter’s Church, Huddersfield.
Chris said: “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed running it and have made friends and a few have lost their battle but the scientists will keep at it and hopefully all will survive in the future.”
