This family-run Trust was set up in memory of loved ones, one of whom was diagnosed with glioblastoma in 2023, and all funds are raised by family and friends. It aims to make a big difference through small acts of kindness, offering micro-grants of up to £250 for people with a primary brain cancer diagnosis living in the North East and North, East and West Yorkshire
The grants can be used for any purpose that cannot be met by statutory services (social care or the NHS), such as: costs of fuel or parking for hospital trips, or anything to make a person more comfortable such as clothing, special pillows or bedding, a magazine subscription or a record player to sing along to.
The Trust welcomes referrals from professionals, charities and community and support groups, and individuals should be referred using the webform at the link below: https://www.theemileentrust.co.uk/contact-us/
Please provide a few details about the individual such as their diagnosis, where they live and what the request is for, alongside contact details for the referrer and (with permission and where appropriate) contact details for the individual who you are making the request for.
It would be great to know if any of our Yorkshire Cancer Community contacts do apply successfully for a micro-grant, so please let us know by emailing sarah@yorkshirecancercommunity.co.uk
