Would you like to make a difference by saving lives in your community? We need your help to Chat about Cancer.

As part of our Cancer SMART cancer awareness project, we are looking for volunteers who are at the heart of their communities and want to saves lives by raising awareness of cancer. Could you be the person we are looking for?

Community Connectors will be volunteers who have good social or community networks who can spread our positive health messages in several ways.

  • By talking to friends, colleagues, neighbours, customers, students in their daily lives
  • By putting up posters for us in local places such as supermarkets, the Post Office or food banks
  • By giving online talks to raise awareness

We will be asking you to pass on the positive Cancer SMART key messages:

Did you know that 4 in 10 cases of cancer could be prevented, largely through making healthy lifestyle changes (Cancer Research UK ) We’re asking you to share good news with your networks.

250 people in West Yorkshire and Harrogate are diagnosed with cancer every week and 115 people will lose their lives. We need your help to reduce these figures and help us save lives.
